There's a lot of talk about reducing carbon these days. But these conversations never seem to include the word "copepod." Copepods are a small aquatic crustacean that are critical, not only as a food source for sea creatures, but as a carbon reducing phenomenon. These exoskeleton creatures feed on waste and phytoplankton to the tune of 370,000 per day. They consume more carbon than they create which is more than can be said for humans! While performing this important task, they become a source of food for everything from Sea Horses to Whales!
